A well-known saying has it that many roads lead to Rome. In most cases, that applies to everyday situations and problems. If you need an 8 mm stainless steel plate in a specific dimension, you have at least two routes to choose from - and only you can decide which one you take in the end.
Let us first tell you the easiest and most convenient way: you can simply order cut stainless steel from us. We have the right machines to cut even an 8 mm stainless steel plate with millimetre precision. And we cut stainless steel sheet every day, so we have more than enough experience in processing stainless steel plates.
Now that you know the easy way, we will also introduce the arduous one. You could order an 8 mm stainless steel plate, mark out the required dimensions on it and do the cutting yourself. For that, however, you need the right tools, and you cannot afford a moment's carelessness - otherwise a deviation from the dimensions happens faster than you would like. In case of doubt, cutting it yourself will cost you not only more money but also more time and several attempts.
We advise you before you order
At ESC Burg, we deal with stainless steel in its various forms. That is why we can also advise you on which material thickness and which stainless steel grade are best suited to your project. We see ourselves not merely as a service provider but as a partner to our customers. That is also why we have no online shop where predefined sheets can be ordered: if you want to order from us, you will first speak with one of our experienced employees.
Regardless of the value of your order, you receive comprehensive advice from us - every customer is equal to us. You will not have to wait long for our quotation either, as it is calculated immediately during the phone call. You can then decide to place your order with us straight away, or take a little time to think it over.
8 mm stainless steel plate for various fields of use
So that we can always cut the right steel sheet to measure for you, we hold a permanent stock of around 2,000 tonnes of stainless steel sheet. Heat-resistant stainless steel is very popular with our customers, used for example for building stainless steel kitchens. As a worktop and for designing an outdoor kitchen, this steel is ideal: rain and moisture can harm it as little as the high temperatures around the cooking area.
Boat owners appreciate the resistance to seawater that some stainless steel alloys exhibit. The somewhat higher price is worth accepting for all fittings on sailing and motor boats: in the long run, you save a great deal of money if you do not have to invest in replacing stainless steel parts every few years.
ESC Burg works particularly efficiently
To respond flexibly to our customers' wishes, we have organised our production as leanly as possible. Of course, we cannot fully automate cutting and the further processing steps - but we constantly strive to keep the share of automation as large as possible. As a customer, you can only benefit, in two ways: the more simply we can produce, the lower we can make our prices. And when it comes to time, thanks to permanent investment in our machine park, we keep getting faster in production. Our self-imposed goal is to complete every order within 48 hours. We unfortunately do not always succeed - but almost always.
That we always work exactly to measure whenever we laser-cut or otherwise cut stainless steel goes without saying. We know that adhering to dimensions matters not only for body panels made of 8 mm stainless steel sheet. We know that you have measured exactly how large your sheet must be. And we can assure you that you will receive it from us in exactly that size - for small sheets just as for large-format sheets.
Experience our all-round service for stainless steel sheet
As we outlined at the beginning, cutting stainless steel plates is a major challenge for hobbyists. The same naturally applies to further processing steps. Bending or folding can in theory also be done at home - in practice, however, it is almost impossible to obtain a straight edge that way. And at a material thickness of 8 mm, bending without machine assistance is effectively impossible.
We offer to take care of this part of the job for you as well - in quite different forms. A single bend is called an L-profile. If we bend a sheet twice, the result is either a U-profile, as for a channel, or a Z-profile, which can be used as a drip flashing. With our bending benches, we can bend exactly the profile you need from a piece of sheet to your specifications.
We also take on surface treatment. The result is absolutely uniform - something that can only be achieved with sandpaper in a home workshop with great skill. Especially if your sheet has a special shape or is bent, it becomes extremely difficult to treat the surface evenly without machine assistance.
