Our company history
We have not always dealt exclusively with stainless steel sheets. The roots of our company go back to 1908, when the Berlin-Burger Eisenbahn was founded. Almost 30 years later, the site was converted into a rolling mill, which operated until the mid-1990s. At that point, the course was set for our current business model, and the company was systematically transformed into a stainless steel service center - ESC for short.
Since 2013 we have been a family-run, medium-sized company. Profits are continually reinvested so that we can increase our capacities for our customers and focus further on trading and processing stainless steel. We are supported in this by, among others, the State of Saxony-Anhalt and the EU, which enabled extensive investments in 2020 and 2021. In addition to new machines, investments were made in energy-saving lighting, more energy-efficient heating and a new wastewater treatment plant.
We are a reliable partner for our customers. This is made possible both by our large stock and by our long-standing business relationships with our suppliers. Both contribute to our ability to respond quickly and flexibly to customer requests. Even more important, however, are our 35 motivated and well-trained employees, who are open to every customer wish.
Cutting: the core of our company
Truly every product we manufacture on behalf of our customers first passes through the cutting department. Here, a sheet in the customer's desired dimensions is cut from the right alloy and the chosen material thickness. We use various processes for this, all of which guarantee an exact, clean cut. They include:
Cut-to-length line
With this machine we can cut sheets in material thicknesses from 2 mm to 12 mm. The sheets may be up to 2,000 mm wide and a maximum of 16,000 mm long after cutting.
Precision guillotine shears
Depending on how thick a sheet is, individual precision shears are used. The sheets may be between 1 mm and 12 mm thick. Sheets cut in this way must not exceed 2,000 mm in width and 6,000 mm in length.
Contour cutting with laser and plasma
For all orders requiring a contour cut, we have various professional machines - including a Bystronic Fiber Laser XXL for sheets between 0.5 mm and 30.0 mm thick, and a plasma line for sheets up to 70 mm thick. All of these stainless steel processing methods are computer-aided for a perfect result.
Forming: shapes to your wishes
After cutting, many orders also pass through the forming department. Here we can offer you stainless steel processing in Germany with press brakes as a service. We produce various standard shapes and welcome every order for special shapes.
You can order bent profiles and multiple bends to your specifications from us. We offer curves and angles at the angle you require. We can produce channels, U-profiles and Z-profiles individually for you from various sheets.
Our machines can process sheets up to a width of 2,000 mm and a length of 6,100 mm. The thickness must not exceed 12 mm. Our trained staff can guarantee that every edge we create is absolutely uniform.
Surface treatment: the right surface for every sheet
There are various reasons for treating the surface of stainless steel. For some customers, a particular look for their stainless steel parts is important. More often, however, the aim is to make the surface particularly easy to clean or to protect it. Our surface treatment department can offer various options here.
We offer dry grinding for defined surfaces, for example. Our dry grinding machines can work with grit sizes from 60 to 240 and grind sheets up to 2,600 mm wide and 3,800 mm long.
We can foil-protect sheets up to a width of 1,500 mm and thus shield them from environmental influences. For thorough surface cleaning, we can offer pickling as part of our stainless steel processing.
Can't you do that yourself?
Many people want to do everything themselves - including working stainless steel. From our experience, however, a distinction must be made between the various processing methods. Cutting and bending stainless steel should definitely be left to the professionals: the risk of injuring yourself is relatively high, and the risk that your sheet becomes unusable because you lack the tools or sufficient experience is even higher.
Other methods of working stainless steel, such as welding, adhesive bonding, drilling or brazing, are much easier to carry out, even as a hobbyist. With one of our guides, you can implement these methods for assembling stainless steel parts very well yourself.
